Whitman Planning Board Reorganizes, Approves Belcher Drive Lot Split

WHITMAN — May 27, 2025 — Whitman Planning Board reorganizes unchanged and tightens Form A review after a parking error. The board unanimously re-elected Chair Adam Somerville, Vice Chair Elaine Bergeron, and Clerk Robert Kimball at its May 27 meeting, then addressed a procedural misstep from a prior session in which the board had endorsed a Form A plan on Auburn Street near Route 18 without realizing the subdivision removed parking land from a bank parcel. Somerville proposed — and members agreed — to require applicants to submit at least an 8.5-by-11 copy of any Form A plan by the Thursday before each meeting, with the requirement to be added to the application form itself. The board also endorsed a Form A separating the house at 100 Fort Park Circle from a 5.174-acre remainder parcel on Belcher Drive, with a notation that the larger lot is not buildable due to insufficient frontage. Three sets of prior meeting minutes were approved, with one abstention on the April 22 minutes.
