Whitman Board of Assessors approves $270,000 motor vehicle excise commitment
WHITMAN — March 17, 2026 — Whitman Board of Assessors approved more than $278,000 in tax commitments and exemptions at its March 17 meeting. The board's largest action was a unanimous vote authorizing motor vehicle excise Commitment Number 2 totaling $270,534.25, which staff noted was too large to print in full and required only the first and last pages for signatures. Additional approvals included a 2026 boat commitment of $1,462, excise abatements of $1,378.63, two Clause 41C real estate exemptions totaling $2,561.06, a Clause 22 Veterans exemption of $404, a Community Preservation Act exemption of $46.32, and two Clause 22-E Veterans exemptions totaling $2,020. The board adjourned at 4:53 p.m. and set its next meeting for March 31, 2026.
