Whitman Conservation Commission Sets Two Site Visits, Tightens Action-Item Tracking

WHITMAN — June 3, 2025 — Whitman Conservation Commission schedules back-to-back site visits and flags unanswered enforcement letter. At the June 3 meeting, members set a group inspection of the Whitman Middle School construction site for Monday, June 9, at 2 p.m., citing large topsoil stockpiles and the need to review stormwater inspection records, and scheduled an informal visit to 141 Franklin Street for Friday, June 13, at 3 p.m. to address a neighbor-versus-neighbor sump pump drainage dispute that members said may touch a wetland buffer zone under 310 CMR 10. The commission also flagged that a violation letter sent to the New World property over unpermitted tree cutting and blocked brook work appears to have gone unanswered, with required mitigation plantings still incomplete; a commission member said she would contact the owner directly before the planting season closes. Members voted unanimously to approve minutes from April 15 and May 20 and to approve a payroll warrant ending May 31, 2025.
