Whitman Council on Aging Shifts November Meeting, Reviews Packed Fall Program

WHITMAN -- October 8, 2025, Whitman Council on Aging shifts its November meeting to November 19 amid a World Kindness Day school collaboration. The committee, meeting October 8 with a small quorum, approved routine reports covering a busy September that included a first-ever "Pancakes in Pajamas" breakfast catered by Cowbells, a reverse mortgage information session with presenter David Talat of Mutual of Omaha that ran more than two hours, Atlantic White Shark Conservancy and Nancy Franks of Frankly Speaking programs, and a National Ice Cream Cone Day event from Hornstra Farms. The November 12 date was surrendered to make room for 85 Conley School kindergartners visiting Town Hall for World Kindness Day. The director also flagged that fuel assistance recertifications through the Self-Help program were already running at an unusually heavy pace, calling the volume "an indication of how many people are in need" heading into winter.
