WHITMAN — March 9, 2026 — Whitman Housing Authority awards $14,100 knob-and-tube removal contract and hears of $1 million in energy upgrades. The board voted unanimously at its March 9 meeting to award project 338102 to Abade LLC of Fairhaven, the low bidder out of a field that ranged up to $68,700, for removal of old disconnected wiring from the walls of a Fullerton Avenue property. Executive Director Eileen reported that administrative expenses on the state side appeared over budget by $32,609 due to a pending legal reimbursement, but said Harvard Court financials were otherwise nearly on target. The board also accepted the 2025 annual town report, which thanked the Community Preservation Committee for a $65,000 award for vinyl siding replacement at the Pinehurst Drive family development, and confirmed that a budget approved March 4 will trigger retroactive pay for two administrative staff members. Combined improvements under the Lean Energy Program — including 25 new refrigerators delivered at no cost — have now topped $1 million.
