Whitman Assessors Approve Catalyst Contract for Town Revaluation Through FY29
WHITMAN — May 5, 2026 — Whitman assessors approve Catalyst as revaluation contractor through fiscal year 2029. The Board of Assessors voted unanimously Tuesday to accept both the non-price and price proposals from Catalyst, a property assessment firm, covering the town's fiscal year 2027 state-required certification revaluation and interim year valuations in FY28 and FY29. The contract rate is $62, up from a previous rate of $45, with the increase attributed to the more intensive revaluation cycle. Key additions to the proposal include mandatory training for assessors and staff at any phase of the project and a requirement that Catalyst assist with abatement application review — a function not included in prior arrangements. The board also approved motor vehicle excise and boat abatements totaling $4,329.67 and entered executive session to address an overvaluation matter. The final contract will be executed by the town's procurement office.
