WHITMAN -- June 10, 2026, Whitman's Aid to the Elderly and Disabled Taxation Fund Committee opened its application season at a June 10 meeting, setting an October 1 deadline and scheduling its first review session for October 7. Chair Ryan Trestle reported the fund has crossed the $5,000 mark, with a combined total of roughly $7,000 available when the affiliated Friends of Whitman Aid to the Elderly account is included. The committee confirmed that the application is live on the town website and will be promoted at Whitman Day on June 14, where members Heidi Hosmer and Debbie O'Britton will staff the Friends group table in zone six near the basketball court. Friends group representative John Galvin reported that a Trivia Night fundraiser has been postponed to the fall after only four teams registered, and announced a switch from Venmo to the platform Zephi.com, which he said passes 100 percent of donations to the nonprofit and issues automatic tax receipts. Income eligibility remains tied to fiscal year 2025 Brockton-area median figures after the original data source was found to be unavailable online. The committee's next regular meeting is September 9, 2026.
